Carotino Palm Oil |
Being a Nigerian, it’s
almost impossible to cook without using palm oil or red palm kernel oil in most
Nigerian dishes. If you are looking for the
healthiest alternative to palm oil, Carotino may
be your best bet. Carotino is what I use as a replacement
to the normal Nigerian cooking palm oil.
Carotino
oil is a very good and a natural source of Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids.
These are imperative for a good health because they cannot be manufactured by
the body so we must supplement them in our diet. They also contain Co-enzyme Q10,
which helps improve our energy level.
Carotino
oil is very versatile and offers a light flavour, so it won't over power
delicate food flavours, while maintaining the rich colour desired without the
health risks. It can withstand high heat without burning and it is 100% natural
and Vegan-approved.
In addition to providing numerous
vitamins, carotino is obtained from the fruit of the
Red Palm Tree—not the kernel. It contains no harmful trans fat or artificial colours
or preservative (it’s not hydrogenated) and is less saturated than palm kernel
oil (where the saturated fat content is too high to be part of a
healthy diet). Remember too much saturated fat can lead to heart problem and
can raise cholesterol.
Here is why you should use Carotino oil as opposed to other cooking oil
or palm oil;
v Its high in Omega 3 and 6 essential
fatty acid
v We all need antioxidants for a
healthy immune system
v 100% natural
v It’s very rich in natural
pro-Vitamin A and E
v No Artificial colourings
or preservative, GMOs, trans fat, cholesterol or carbohydrates.
v Anti-oxidants
fight cell damage caused by 'free radicals' in the body
v Very rich in Lycopene (a very powerful antioxidant)
You can
get carotino oil from most of the major groceries stores in the UK, Asda, Tesco
and Sainsbury, precisely in Asda it’s sold for £2.19.
Please
bear in mind as much as its one of the few healthiest cooking oil out there, it
must be used reasonably and not overused in cooking.
It is a mixture of rapseed (canola) oil and palm oil of which canola is a higher percentage. Do your research on canola oil. Should you be taking it??
